Tomorrow our conference will start – we’re already looking forward to welcome our speakers in person. But even before that, we wanted to know why our guests chose to attend Theatrescapes – Global Media and Translocal Publics 1850-1950. Francisco Leocádio’s paper (Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro) centers on the large modernization project which Rio de Janeiro, then Brazíl’s federal capital’ underwent in the early 20th century and its connection to theatre. He hopes the conference will be a forum to exchange experiences and get to know other researchers interested in similar topics.
